This is a great piece of business by the club and we’re sure that the new signing will be a big success.

2. OUFC to play in UEFA Champions League

It was announced today that two of our very own will be playing in the UEFA Champions League next season!

That’s right, both Oxford United Football Club and Chelsea Football Club have qualified to play in Europe’s most prestigious club competition.

This is a fantastic achievement for both clubs, and is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved.

We can’t wait to see both clubs represent England on the biggest stage, and we know they’ll do us proud.

3. OUFC to face Liverpool in Premier League

It’s been a busy few days for Oxford United and their fans, with the club announcing three new signings and then finding out their opponents for the opening day of the season.

The U’s have brought in goalkeeper Simon Eastwood, defender Rob Dickie and midfielder Shandon Baptiste, and they will all be hoping to make an impact in the Sky Bet League One campaign.

And they will get their first chance to do so against one of the biggest clubs in the country, with Liverpool the visitors to the Kassam Stadium on August 12th.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are the reigning European champions and will provide a stern test for Karl Robinson’s men, but it is a fixture that everyone at the club will be relishing.

It promises to be a fantastic atmosphere on the day, and Oxford will be hoping to put in a good performance to get their season off to the perfect start.

4. OUFC to host Manchester United in FA Cup

It’s official: Oxford United will host Manchester United in the FA Cup fifth round!

The U’s confirmed their place in the last 16 of the competition with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Newcastle United on Sunday, and they will now face the Red Devils at the Kassam Stadium on Friday, 21 February (kick-off 8pm).

The tie will be a repeat of the fourth round clash between the two sides in 2015, when Louis van Gaal’s United team required a late equaliser from Daley Blind to rescue a 1-1 draw.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will be no pushovers, of course, but United will go into the game as underdogs and will be looking to cause an upset.

We’ll have all the build-up to the game in the coming days, so make sure you check back for all the latest news and views.
